Withdraw illegal NRCs issued: Rakhine Hluttaw
National Registration Cards issued to non-Myanmar nationals since August 2016 should be declared invalid and withdrawn, Rakhine Hluttaw Original Rights of Citizens and Special Cases Investigation Committee said. This was among six suggestions made by the committee in its report submitted to the state Hluttaw on Myanmar 21. The committee’s chair U Tun Aung Thein said investigations found that the national verification team was approving applications for NRC without knowing the facts in the forms, and that in some instances, was forced by township scrutinising committee leaders to approve applications without verifying the facts or conducting personal interviews.
